Problem

Most pupils have a bad experience discovering cultural inheritance by reading books. This means that for them, Ukrainian literature is known to be boring and dull.

Objective

The main aim of the web quest was to bring to Ukrainian literature some fresh air, make it more attractive as it might seem at first look.

Solution

The interviewed pupils reported that they mostly use the condensed versions of the books to grasp the most crucial points (succinct plot, characters, etc.) In order to resolve the studying issue the team decided to bet on the visual associations interpreted in a playful form.

In collaboration with "Kadroom" quest rooms, our team created a hardware part of of a quest called the Magic Kobzar complementing the quest and used it simultaneously with it.

Result

During the project our team focused on designing hard and software parts of a quest so that the overall experience is immersive.

Depending on the hardware part (the book) presense the web-quest is split on 2 different flows.

The quest with a book invloves screens with tasks to resolve only by interacting with a Magic Kobzar added to the literature tasks. The other version doesn’t include such tasks.

Takeaway

This is the first case our team faced up a challenge of aligning the hardware and software design processes.
